Based in Wellington City
The Cancer Society's mission is improving community well-being by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer. The Cancer Society is committed to working with our communities by providing leadership and advocacy in cancer control, with core services in health promotion, support, information and research.
The Society receives no government funding and is totally reliant on financial support from the public and the business sector. Its income streams include donations, bequests, direct mail, merchandise, special events including Daffodil Day and Relay for Life.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will play a leading role in the development and dissemination of strategic advice to Divisional Managerial staff. You will need to have exceptional communications skills and proven ability in public sector advocacy. Key determinates of the position are to:
• Provide strategic leadership in support and volunteer services.
• Work collaboratively within the organisation and in strategic alliances with other Agencies to advance support services.
• Undertake advocacy at a National level.
• Facilitate meetings and workshops for Divisional Support Service Managers and staff.
• Maximise efforts to reduce the impact and incidence of cancer.
