Relay For Life
Relay For Life is an amzing experience where the community comes together to acknowledge the effects of cancer on our lives, and to raise awareness and much needed funds for the Cancer Society who are working to reduce the impact of cancer in our community.
Relay is an overnight fundraising event. All the funds raised are used to improve community well-being by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer.
Teams of 10 or more participate in a walk/run keeping a team member with a baton on the track at all times.
A festive atmosphere is created with decorated tents, free entertainment, spot prizes, breakfast and games.
The inaugaral New Zealand Relay event was held in Manawatu in 2001 and has, over the years, achieved tremendous success both in financial results and participation.
The Central Districts will hold a number of Relays in 2012. Your support of Relay For Life will make a difference in your community and we warmly welcome you take up the challenge and the baton, form a team and join us for this fun and special event that Relay For Life
