SMOKEFREE

Tobacco is estimated to be responsible for 25% of all cancers.  These result from smoking and being exposed to second hand smoke.  This makes tobacco control a key priority for the Cancer Society.

We provide information and smokefree resources to schools, work places, families and individuals.

Out of Sight Out of Mind

The Out of Sight Out of Mind campaign is about protecting our children from tobacco marketing by getting rid of tobacco displays in retail outlets.

Sunsmart

New Zealand’s high rate of skin cancer, and melanoma in particular, is disturbing, especially as most is preventable.

Over-exposure to the sun's ultraviolet radiation (UVR) is the cause of over 90% of all skin cancer - making prevention and early detection of skin cancer key health goals.

A free library of books and videos is available on specific cancers and treatments, prevention and early detection and cancer care.  We also have a range of pamphlets and information sheets covering a variety of topics.

These resources are available to patients and their families, health professionals and the general public.
