Our Services
No matter who you are, where you live, or the issues you're facing through cancer, we can help with services that are free, confidential and accessible. These services are available for carers, family and friends as well.
Our services aim to help those affected by cancer maintain a positive future outlook and offer support for patients and their families. Living with a cancer diagnosis makes many demands on all members of the family. Support can be provided in your home by Society staff and volunteers who recognise the value of a listening ear and time-out for caregivers and supporters.
We do ask that you make the first contact with the Cancer Society, because we respect your privacy. Health professionals, family or friends may also make a referral to the Society on your behalf, with your permission.
We offer an extensive range of practical services. Examples include
- Information on reducing your cancer risk
- information on cancer and treatment issues.
- emotional and psychological support from a variety of workshops, networking groups, staff contacts and referrals.
- a transport service to drive you to and from local hospital and treatment related appointments.
You do not need a referral. You are welcome to contact us to be assisted in the best services and information for your needs.
