Local centres:
Sponsorship
It is due to the generosity of individuals and organisations that the Cancer Society can provide a wide range of services free of charge. We are proud to have relationships with large and small businesses engaging in:
- promoting better health
- meaning and purpose with their staff
- meeting their corporate social responsibility objectives.
Working with the Cancer Society can provide tax-deductible benefits while demonstrating to your customers, clients and suppliers you are committed to the work of the Cancer Society. A company’s association with a cause is increasingly influencing a consumer’s purchasing decisions.
Local Business Sponsorship
A number of local businesses show their support by donating goods and services to our centre. However much and however modest, it's help like yours which ensures hundreds of Taranaki people living with cancer get fantastic support. New tax laws also mean It is now possible to establish workplace payroll giving programmes for your staff, which has great tax benefits for them too. Please contact the Centre Manager ph 06 757 3006 to discuss how we can help you raise awareness of your brand while you help our local centre make a difference in our community.
National Sponsorship
We also invite companies to partner with the Cancer Society to develop programmes that will meet their marketing and corporate social responsibility objectives on a national level.
The Cancer Society has a well-regarded brand as New Zealand’s favourite charity and has expertise in developing tailored marketing activities to assist with:
- brand positioning and association

Resources
We have extensive free information and resources available that help with cancer in the workplace.
Our resources provide information for:
- people with cancer attending or returning to work
- carers seeking advice
- survivors and their colleagues.
Our information is of a high standard. For example, our booklet Talking to a Friend with Cancer recently won the NGO award for 'Best Plain English Document' at the 2008 WriteMark New Zealand Plain English Awards. We also regularly give talks on cancer prevention and services to staff, and assist organisations to develop workplace prevention programmes and policies.
