Support Groups
General Support:
The Cantalk group holds meetings in both New Plymouth and Hawera to support patients and their families who have been diagnosed and/or undergone cancer treatment. The form the meetings take vary from month to month and provide friendship and the opportunity to talk with others who have experienced the cancer journey. Breast Cancer Support:
Monthly breast cancer support groups are held in both New Plymouth & Hawera, Meetings are held on a monthly basis for North Taranaki women in New Plymouth alternating between afternoon and evening meeting times. In South Taranaki meetings are held every month with members sharing lunch together at Horizon House.
Prostate Cancer Support:
The PALS (prostate awareness is a life saver) group operates from Waitara and supports men who have survived proatate cancer. The group gets together every two months. Contact the Support Coordinator for more information.
