Cancer information

The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Cancer Society is the region’s central point for information about any cancer. We aim to provide accessible and credible information about a range of cancer related topics, from cancer types to treatments and coping strategies.

Lending library

The Cancer Society’s information service and lending library can provide a comprehensive range of books and DVDs on topics including specific cancers and treatments, cancer care, coping strategies and prevention. If we don't have the information you're looking for, we'll do our best to source it for you.

In addition free information books on these topics are available from the Hamilton, Rotorua or Tauranga Cancer Society offices and the Cancer Society’s Lions Lodge.

Would you like to speak to an experienced nurse about your cancer or about someone close to you with cancer?

This free call helpline has been created especially for patients, their family/whanau and carers. Your call will be answered by an experienced cancer nurse and is totally confidential. If you wish you can also remain anonymous. Our nurses are trained to discuss many aspects of cancer and can help you find other information or support you may need.

This free service is available Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, excluding public holidays.
