Fundraising Statement
The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Division Cancer Society of New Zealand Inc. is an independent non-government organisation reliant on donations and bequests. We are proud to be regarded as one of New Zealand's most trusted charities and this is reflected in our fundraising practices:
-
We keep our fundraising expenses well within industry guidelines
-
We carry out our own fundraising and use volunteers wherever possible to minimise costs
-
We do not employ fundraising companies or pay commission, and do not engage in paid telemarketing or door to door collecting
The donations we receive go towards vital scientific research into the causes and treatment of all types of cancer, as well as providing a wide range of support services, information, health promotion and education programmes to reduce cancer risk, awareness campaigns and programmes for people affected by cancer. The money stays in the region where it was donated unless stipulated otherwise by the donor.
